RESEARCH PROGRAMS
ERDTI–HONALEC facilitates admission of students to M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs through recognized universities for advanced studies and research in the fields of Power Systems and Smart Grid Technology.
The students are admitted to the respective university through the support and facilitation provided by ERDTI–HONALEC. We provide state-of-the-art research infrastructure, laboratory facilities, simulation software, hardware platforms, technical guidance, and research support required for the successful completion of their academic research work.

Degree Award
The research work is carried out in accordance with the regulations and guidelines prescribed by the respective university. Upon successful completion of the academic and research requirements, the degree certificate (M.Tech. or Ph.D.) is awarded by the respective university itself.
ERDTI–HONALEC functions as a research facilitation and infrastructure provider and does not award academic degrees.
Course Duration
- M.Tech. (Full-Time): 2 Years
- M.Tech. (Part-Time for Working Professionals): As per University Regulations
- Ph.D. (Full-Time): Minimum 4 Years, or as prescribed by the University and UGC Regulations
- Ph.D. (Part-Time for Working Professionals): As per University and UGC Regulations
Eligibility Criteria
For M.Tech. Admission
- B.E. / B.Tech. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
- Candidates must satisfy the eligibility requirements prescribed by the respective university.
For Ph.D. Admission
- M.E. / M.Tech. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Control Systems, Renewable Energy, Smart Grid Technology, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
- Candidates must satisfy the admission requirements and research regulations prescribed by the respective university and UGC.
Admission Fees
Admission to these programs is offered on a payment basis. The fees include:
- University registration and admission fees.
- Research guide and supervision fees.
- Fees incurred towards research infrastructure and laboratory facilities.
- Access to simulation software, hardware platforms, technical resources, guidance and documentation support for thesis preparation, and research support facilities required for the successful completion of research work.
Government Compliance
All research programs are conducted strictly in accordance with the guidelines, regulations, and standards prescribed by the Government of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, and the respective affiliating universities.
Important Notes
- Meritorious and deserving candidates may be considered for fee concessions and scholarships, subject to eligibility criteria and availability of funding support.
- Boarding and lodging charges shall be borne by the students.
- Research scholars may be provided opportunities to participate in industrial projects, technical workshops, seminars, conferences, and publication activities related to their research work.
